First days in ODENSE
A welcoming city
Our accomodation(s)
It’s been a few days since we arrived in Odense, and we are thrilled to share our experiences with you !
In our last post, we shared our arrival story and mentioned that we were staying in an AirBnB. The host was very welcoming, and helped us a lot finding our way around the city.
We have now moved into a small temporary room at SDU Hospital while we wait for our apartment, which we will be moving into on the 15th of February.
University of Southern Denmark (SDU) Campus
The SDU campus is massive, and it’s been a challenge to navigate, but it’s also exciting to be a part of such a big and cool community.
Tom has started his courses in the Faculty of Engineering, while Claire has started her SDU biology lab internship, where she is working on 3D cells.
Despite getting lost a few times, it’s been amazing to meet a lot of wonderful people from all over the world !
Odense
Initially, we were using bikes to get to the campus, but we have since switched to the modern tram line for convenience . The tram system here is efficient, and it’s been a great experience using it every day.
Odense, the city where we are staying, has been fascinating to explore. It’s a historic city with narrow streets and small houses. We’ve seen various museums that we have yet to visit, including the Anderson Museum. The city is bustling with activity, and it’s been a delight to try the local cuisine, including those delicious cinnamon roll.
Our journey so far
We have enjoyed our time here so far, and we can’t wait to share more of our experiences in our next posts. We will be talking more about our studies, research, and the city itself.
That’s all for now!
Tom & Claire.
